Richard Price is a self-employed artist who runs his own pottery, The Richard Price Studio. He sculpts and paints and holds a First Class Honours Degree and a Post Graduate Diploma in the fields of Art and Design.
He has practiced karate first in 1977 and returned to this style in 1989. He has trained in interest courses in Nucleus Jeet Kun Do, Krav Maga, Muay Thai, Tai Chi, Kempo and Tae Kwon Do, and absorbed useful learning from all of these disciplines. He has trained mainly in Scotland but visits Finland regularly to train with friends there. A senior instructor since 1995, Richard currently runs clubs in Glasgow South and South Lanarkshire but has also built clubs in Ayrshire, East Kilbride and Glasgow North. He has written and helped produce a large proportion of Shoto Budo literature, including titles such as "Shoto Budo - Part of the Furniture", and "Now We Go Swim in Snow". He also supported the writing of and produced the many illustrations in, "The Essential Text" by William Haggerty.
